Visiting Michigan: Old Town Lansing

So we spent a few days in Michigan last week.  It was my first time to that part of the country, and also my first time that far north.  We drove through North Carolina, Kentucky, and Ohio, and it was my first time to see Ohio, too!  We stopped for gas somewhere near Bowling Green in the wee hours of the morning on our way up, so I didn’t really get to see any of the state until our drive home.  The BGSU Stadium is right next to the interstate!
Anyway, our first free afternoon in Michigan was spent exploring Old Town Lansing.

We also drove around the Michigan State University campus but I didn’t take any pictures.  It’s a cute little area but not somewhere I’d ever like to live.  The best argument for Lansing is the weather – it averaged a crisp 75 degrees while we were there…75 degrees in August, y’all! Unheard of.
