Mike made this bread the other day. It was actually leftover dough from the pizzas he made for dinner, but the bread he made the next day was sooooooo good. I might have eaten 90% of the loaf and saved him a slice but I will neither confirm nor deny that.
He says it’s called “Peasant Bread” but I think that’s a terrible name, so I hereby christen it “Really Good Bread.”
This is not exactly a recipe because Mike didn’t remember where he got it (oddly enough it did not come from his really big bread recipe book), but this is what’s in it: water, Tipo 00 Italian flour, yeast, salt, and some olive oil (brushed on top before baking). The flour is really important. I think Mike orders it on the internet. Fancy.
Like I said, the other night Mike made us some pizza for dinner using this fabulous dough. Pizza night would not be complete without red wine (from California…) and Guiness (from Italy…), so we drank and Mike cooked. Mike put vegetables on his and I put cheese on mine. He also made the sauce from scratch.
But this is a post about BREAD glorious BREAD! If you’d really like the recipe, let me know and I’ll pin Mike down and force him to remember it.
