I hope you’ll stick with me while I wax nostalgic for the next few posts.
I spent 2007 – 2011 exploring Leon and its neighboring counties. Tallahassee is unique in that it’s about 45 minutes from the beach and the entire area is spotted with natural springs and sink holes. The landscape is covered with infamous oak trees draped in spanish moss, seemingly abandoned small towns, and even more numerous than the oversized pick-up trucks are the winding back roads they travel.
Dock near Carabelle on the way to Alligator Point, one of my favorite beaches.
I spent a lot of time driving when I wasn’t in class. Aside from the several trips I made home to Virginia, the majority of the miles on my car came from mini-adventures within an hour or so of my house.
**In preparation for my trip to Germany/Austria/Slovenia in April, I’m going to start a temporary travel series that revisits some of my favorite places and photos.**
