Our trip to Helen

Our trip to Helen started off on Friday night after a pretty entertaining run in with a pair of drunken old ladies. They walked up to us, asked if we were drinking, and then poured the last few sips of their beers into my cup. I must look like the type that enjoys drinking strangers’ backwash.

Hollie and Billy got into town at about midnight and we had a drink with them before heading back to the hotel for the night.

We got up early and ate breakfast at Hofer’s Cafe. Helpful Hint: if you’re planning on visiting Helen, you need to eat breakfast at Hofer’s.

The Beer Garden opened at 11, so we planted ourselves at a picnic table in the sun and started drankin’. There might have been a pretzel with cheese dip in my belly at some point during the day.

On Sunday after breakfast we walked around downtown for a little while before heading home.
