October in Aiken and the Movie Night that wasn’t

Autumn is my favorite season for many reasons. I love the cool, fresh air. I love that the humidity vanishes. I love the CLOTHES. And I  love the colors. Unfortunately, Aiken doesn’t exactly embrace the whole…beautiful fall foliage concept.

This is what fall in Aiken looks like on an early October afternoon –

And this is what snuggling on the ground with your fiance looks like –

Last night, I wanted to see a movie with Feefaroni. It took me about 3 hours to decide which one I wanted to see (especially because Lion King 3D was one of the choices and I just LOVE Mufasa. And Pumba). I eventually narrowed it down to either 50/50 or Moneyball – mainly because I knew the Lion King would leave me in tears like it always does and I wasn’t in the mood to spend my Wednesday evening weeping like a child.
So (drumroll) I landed on 50/50. Mike hadn’t heard of either movies (because he actually lives under a rock) and therefore had ZERO helpful input. Moneyball seemed just a little bit TOO heavy, and when you couple that with my complete lack of baseball savvy, the flick about a young man with cancer seemed like the obvious choice. Also, Seth Rogan and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are two of my favorite off-beat actors and I REALLY sort of hate Brad Pitt ever since he transitioned from Jen to Angie.
My point is, on Day 2 of my 334561164th diet, I wanted nothing more than to eat my weight in popcorn while simultaneously crying & laughing.

Then I got home from work and Mike and I got into an argument about something. So naturally, instead of going to the movie, I moped around the house, ate some grilled chicken and veggies, and refused to talk about it like an adult. I also made some pretty delicious no-bake cookies with butterscotch pieces. We’re not fighting anymore.

I really want to see 50/50…. damn you and the Feef fighting, I need your review. Clearly, it's all about me and not your relationship. You should remind him that next time you squabble. 😉

Wow. Fall looks beautiful there…living so close to the FL line means fall is about a week, then it's hot, then it's cold for a few weeks…then spring…then summer. Haha. You guys are so cute. I love your little "about me".
