Spin class fail

Some of you might remember my early excitement regarding my latest “get skinny” conquest, Spin Class. Well, if you hadn’t picked up on it, I haven’t been in oh, 2 months. For whatever reason, my first Aiken summer has left me feeling more lethargic than ever. I’ve really noticed a decline in my attitude and my appearance.

When I was living in Asheville I followed a pretty successful combination of running 2 miles a day, drinking a Slim Fast for breakfast and lunch,  Greek yogurt at snack time, and a chicken breast + brown rice 500 calorie dinner. Sure, it’s no dietician recommended meal plan, but I lost 10 lbs in about 2 months. I mean, that’s not a huge loss – but still. I was proud of myself.

Then college graduation rolled around in April, the Feef and I went to Wyoming in May, and I moved in with Mike shortly after we got engaged. Our constant state of transition made it easy to eat fast food for every meal, forget about the $20 a month I pay for my gym membership, and come straight home after work to a night on the couch and ice cream before bed.

So I should not be surprised about my weight gain, and I’m not. I am surprised how quickly time has passed and how I’ve allowed myself to go on like this without any effort to change.

So, the fridge is officially stocked with Slim Fast and Greek yogurt. I set my alarm for 6:30 tomorrow morning (or this morning…I wrote this Monday night) with high hopes of taking Bella for a run, and operation “fit into my wedding dress by December” has officially started…

Check back with me in a week to see how things are going. We all know I stick to my diet plans about as well as tape sticks to water.

Good luck! I seriously need to lose about 5-10 pounds too but I've had no motivation this summer either. Sounds like you're much more disciplined than I am!

I know exactly how you feel….transition is always the hardest time because you don't have any kind of routine set, let alone a workout routine. I was just crying to Nick last night about how crappy I feel about myself. SO I am starting a routine too…we will get through it together!

I googled "spin class routines" to look (steal) some class ideas for my spin class I'm teaching tonight! I hope you went and promise that the saddle soreness goes away after 2 or 3 times. Trust me. And, I love slim fast, too. Greek yogurt leaves a lot to be desired.Oh, and hey, I didn't get any spin class ideas from your blog. Work on that, will you?
