And it already feels like home. I love my room, love my house, love my neighborhood. This is the first time I’ve ever had such a long list of things I want to do. There are so many options here in Asheville, and West Asheville (where I live), is apparently way more super awesome than I could have imagined. I can’t wait to get out and explore this weekend.
Today was my first day at the magazine and it was nowhere near as stressful as I was imagining/dreading. My…manager…I don’t know what to call her. We’ll call her M. M was very nice. She didn’t even make fun of me for arriving 45 minutes before the office opened. I got introduced to all 8 of the other people who work there. I thought it was funny that two people could make up the entire marketing department. I’ll be part of the production department, and when the other interns start next week, they’ll be distributed between production, marketing and sales.
I even get my own Mac desktop computer to work on, a fancy phone to accidentally hang up on people with, and an e-mail address!
Today was basically a short orientation (the real one will happen when the other interns come). I spent a lot of time brainstorming and then mailed off some of the current issue to contributors before leaving at about 1:00.
All for now,
LOVE FROM 12 West!
